CBSE class 9 and 11 exams are all set to be held offline at several schools across the country. While a section of students and parents have been requesting for the conduct of examinations online due to the ongoing COVID-19 and risk of infection, several schools have reportedly already asked their students to give their examinations offline. Schools have also re-opened for students of classes 9 and 11 in various Indian cities.
“We will be conducting examinations for students of class 9 and 11 offline. Online exams at such a large scale are not possible. Only a section of students and parents are opposing offline exams. Rest are happy coming to school, and are also willing to take offline exams,” said a teacher from a government high school in Delhi on the condition of anonymity. The same development has been confirmed by several students across various schools on the CBSE class 9 and 11 exams.
“My school has announced that the finals will be held in offline mode only. Even the date sheet is also out. I request the board to at least give students a choice how they prefer to give exam, online or offline,” said Shreeya Mohakud to Dataquest.
“I am A Ashitha, and I am studying in 9th standard in Koyilandy, Kerala. My school decided to conduct final exam from 22 February till 3 March. And it is risk for all of us to go to school and I plead the government to take strict decision to conduct exam online,” said the student to Dataquest. Similarly, “I am studying in class 11th in CBSE board and I also want to attend online exam but my school is going to conduct offline exam. So I request government of India to give a guideline to conduct online exam. Thank you,” said Shaurya Vardhan Singh.
However, chances of conducting CBSE class 9 and 11 exams online seem unlikely at the moment. “Holding online examinations on such a large scale is impractical. How can invigilation be done? How can choice be given between offline and online? It has to be uniform for all students,” said the government school teacher.
In the meanwhile, CBSE class 9 and 11 students have returned to school after ten months of taking online classes in New Delhi. “Today, children of classes 9 and 11 have also returned to schools. Normalcy has returned to life. We cannot wait for ‘The Zero Corona Case Day’ to get life back on track. We have to bring back the light of life carefully but only in the midst of the challenge of Corona, and it is happening,” said Manish Sisodia.
You ask the children how they want to give the paper

Mr. Manish Sisodia , this is a wrong update being delivered to your government that students are happy with offline exams only few are opposing offline exams , no it's completely misleading, I am from Delhi and here parents are protesting in from of schools to conduct online exams because looking at the current pandemic no parent wants to risk life of their children. Many offices , multinationals are allowing their employees to work from home only to safeguard them then why government wants to risk life of our children. If conducting online exams nation wide is impractical then how it was done for entire sessions 2020-2021 , if some students doesnot have excess to online gadgets then I don't understand how they will appear for offline exams because it means they hasn't attended online classes as well. Sending children to school was with parental consent then why offline exams without parental consent. I would request the government to look into this matter more deeply and should not put our children life on stack.
ReplyDeleteOur honourable education minister plzz give students choice whether they are Happy in online or offline exam my suggestion is that plzz only conduct in online mode because sir it is not possible for students to take offline exam or you give the both choice to students
