About The Program

The Ahimsa Fellowship 2024 is a 8-month full-time opportunity for graduates designed to create a network of effective animal protection leaders. Through this programme, fellows will gain the skills and knowledge to collaborate closely with state governments and district administrations to enforce animal protection laws in India. It seeks trained professionals who can capably assist the Government in fulfilling its statutory duties through systemic apparatuses like State Animal Welfare Boards, Societies For The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Infirmaries, Slaughterhouse Monitoring Committees, Animal Birth Control Monitoring Committees etc. Successful applicants will receive a competitive monthly stipend of up to ₹20,000 along with other valuable benefits.

The partnership program is controlled by Individuals For Creatures Public Strategy Establishment and Individuals For Creatures Uttarakhand. It is upheld by Ahimsa Trust, Sympathetic Culture Global - India, Benevolence For Creatures - India, Fish Government assistance Drive India, India Creature Asset, Kaivalya Instruction Establishment, Miranda House School (College of Delhi), and NALSAR College of Regulation.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

• be an Indian citizen
• hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised institution/university/college
• be between 21 to 39 years of age as of 31 December 2024
• possess strong communication skills in English and a regional language
• be available to attend the 8-month duration of the fellowship programme

Benefits

For the first two months of the 8-month program, fellows will receive a stipend of ₹10,000 per month. Thereafter, a monthly stipend of ₹20,000.

The stipend is designed to cover expenses related to completing program assignments. Travel and accommodation for the residential contact classes will be covered by Team Ahimsa Fellowship and is NOT to be borne by the candidate. Out-of-pocket expenses beyond the stipend may be reimbursed on a case-by-case basis.

Eligible candidates can apply for the fellowship by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 3: Navigate to the 'Apply Now' button and click on it.

Step 4: Click on the 'Applicant/Fellow Sign-Up' tab. 

Step 5: Fill in the required details, upload the photograph and submit.

Step 6: Once registered, click on the 'Applicant/Fellow Login' tab.

Step 7: Enter Username, password and login. 

Step 8: Fill in the application form consisting of 5 sub-sections (including personal details). 

Step 9: Once the applicant has completed filling out the entire form, lock your form and submit it.

Selection Criteria

The selection process has three following stages:-

Stage 1 - Evaluation of the online application form.

Stage 2 - Applicants who have cleared stage 1 will be invited for a virtual interview. 

Stage 3 - Online assessment will be provided to candidates who clear the interview.

Stage 4 - Candidates who have performed well in the assessment will proceed to the panel interview.

Once the documentation is finalised, the selected candidates secure a spot in Cohort 4 (2024–25) of the Ahimsa Fellowship.
