Speech recognition in agriculture and finance for the poor is an initiative predominantly to create resources and make them available as a digital public good in the open source domain to spur research and innovation in speech recognition in nine different Indian languages in the area of agriculture and finance. About Work

An initiative called Speech Recognition in Agriculture and Finance for the Poor aims to promote research and innovation in the field of agriculture and finance by developing resources and making them publicly available as open-source digital public goods in nine different Indian languages. Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Bhojpuri, Kannada, Magadhi, Chhattisgarhi, and Maithili are the nine Indian languages taken into consideration for this project.

SPIRE LAB, IISc, has taken initiative to create resources for speech technology development such as in text-tospeech (TTS). There are job opportunities in this project in the position of Text-speech validator (it is a work from home job).

• Basic Computer Knowledge and typing skills
• Should be native to one of the nine languages (Hindi, Telugu, Chhattisgarhi, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi,

• Must have their Laptop / Desktop at home.
• Should have good internet connectivity.
• Have prior work experience with speech/audio listening/verification
• Must have translation/transcription work before

Job description and responsibility

• His/ her role will be to listen to a given set of speech recordings and validate that w.r.t the corresponding

• The candidate is expected to flag a recording when the recorded speech does not match with the given text.
• The candidate should be regular with the given task.

• found to perform satisfactorily.
