SDEF "Smt. Shyam Lata Garg" India Scholarships 2024-25
SDEF "Smt. Shyam Lata Garg" India Scholarships 2024-25 is an initiative of Swami Dayanand Education Foundation (SDEF) to provide financial assistance to students pursuing professional courses, including engineering, medical, architecture, etc., and other undergraduate programs at government or private institutions in India. The objective of SDEF is to support exceptionally talented students facing financial constraints, enabling them to pursue and complete their college education. Selected candidates will receive up to INR 50,000 per annum or up to INR 2 lakh over the duration of their degree to continue their higher studies.
With the admirable goal of providing scholarships to college students in India and the US, Mr. Ashutosh Garg and the foundation trustees established the Swami Dayanand Education Foundation in 2015. Since its founding, the foundation has worked to ensure that all worthy students, regardless of their financial situation, can afford and obtain a top-notch college education.
Eligibility
Eligible Courses: Students must be enrolled in professional courses such as engineering, medical, architecture, etc., or other undergraduate programs offered by government or private educational institutions in India.
Academic Excellence:
- For Class 12 students: Applicants must have secured at least 80% in CBSE Board or 70% or above in other boards.
- For second-year students: A minimum CGPA of 8.0 is required.
Income Limit: The annual family income of the applicants should not exceed INR 8 lakhs per annum.
Year of Study:
- Only first and second-year students are eligible to apply.
- For technical courses, only a one-year drop is allowed.
Additional Requirements:
- For Engineering & Architecture courses: The All India Overall Rank must be less than 90,000.
- For Medical courses: The All India Overall Rank must be less than 40,000.
Age Limit:
- First-year students should be under 19 years of age.
- Second-year students should be under 20 years of age.
Benefits
- A scholarship amount of INR 50,000 for students with an AIR rank of less than 2500.
- A scholarship amount of INR 40,000 for students with an AIR rank between 2501 and 5,000.
- A scholarship amount of INR 30,000 for students with an AIR rank between 5,001 and 7500.
- A scholarship amount of INR 20,000 for students with an AIR rank above 7500.
- Additionally, a scholarship amount of INR 10,000 is awarded to students pursuing non-technical courses such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, etc.

- Utility Bills (Electricity, Gas, Telephone, Water) of last six months
- Bank statement of last one year
- Reference letter from two neighbors
- Agricultural land documents/Pics of Shop/Self declaration as per proforma given in application form
- House pictures - Inside and Outside (4 photos) & Family Photograph
- Academic excellence/Awards if any
- Any other relevant document as declared in the application form
- Video narrating about Swami Dayanand Saraswati
- Video on reciting full Vande Mataram of 6 stanzas
- Recent photograph
- Applicants without salary slips or verifiable family income must provide two income verification letters from unrelated, tax-paying neighbors.
- The management could amend, update, or change the scholarship rules and guidelines without any prior notice.
