 Hello Students

Odisha government has asked the schools to conducted exams online for classes 9, 11. The school education department may allow schools to conduct intra-school class promotion examinations for classes 9 and 11.

Odisha government has issued fresh COVID19 guidelines on Saturday for the month of March. The newly issued guidelines have asked the schools in the state to conduct the examinations online for students of classes 9, 11. This has created a lot of confusion among school authorities, parents, and students.

The Special Relief Commissioner, SRC has also asked the schools to conduct the examination online due to the fear of rising covid infection in the state.

Apart from this, the school and mass education department are also planning to allow schools to conduct intra-school class promotion examinations for classes 9 and 11 giving the option of online examination to the students with the consent of their parents and guardians, read the SRC guidelines, reported TOI.

However, as per some school sources, a large number of parents are demanding offline examination to avoid the possibilities of malpractice while students have been requesting online exams. Some schools have already taken the decision to conduct offline exams.

The schools in the state reopened from February 8 onwards for classes 9 and 11 under strict guidelines issued by the school department that includes regular classroom teaching for students of Classes 9 and 11 between 8:30 am and 10:30 am six days a week from February 8 to April 30. Each day three periods would be held in for those two hours.

Meanwhile, Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash have announced that schools' timing would likely change in the state. The timings for morning for class 9 to 12 students are likely to change in view of the sudden rise in maximum temperature and possible heatwave conditions in the State.
